In Odoo 19 stelt u per klant een eigen Follow-up Schedule in.
Grote bedragen: altijd even zelf kijken
Your best customer, who has paid neatly for ten years but misses one invoice, gets the same stern reminder as the customer who is structurally three months late. That feels wrong — and it is entirely avoidable. In Odoo you decide per customer how strict the collection flow is.
A different schedule per customer
In Odoo 19 you can assign each customer their own Follow-up Schedule. Open the customer record, go to the Accounting tab and pick the desired schedule under Follow-up. From then on, this customer follows their own rhythm, independent of the default flow.
Work with a few standard profiles
Setting it per customer is fine for exceptions, but it is smarter to define a handful of fixed schedules and link them in bulk:
- VIP schedule: generous terms, first action a friendly email reminder, second action a phone call from the account manager.
- Standard: reminder after 7 days, formal reminder after 21 days, demand letter after 45 days.
- Strict: for risk customers or new customers without history — short terms and faster escalation to a formal demand.
Bulk-linking is done from the customer list view: select the records and update the field in one go. In ten minutes your entire customer base is on the right schedule.
Large amounts: always take a look yourself
Include a manual action (instead of automatic sending) in your schedules for receivables above, say, €10,000. Odoo then creates a task for the credit controller rather than emailing on its own. A badly worded reminder to your biggest customer costs more than a week of interest — you want to see that one before it goes out the door.
Wrapping up
Practical tip: include a direct payment link in every reminder text and attach the statement of open invoices; it saves discussion and searching on the customer's side. Want a fresh look at your entire receivables process? Contact DAADit Group and we will think along with you.
