What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard introduced by Anthropic that defines how AI assistants communicate safely with external systems. An MCP server acts as a secure gateway between your AI client and your Odoo ERP: you ask a question in plain language (“Which customer orders are affected if this purchase order arrives three days late?”) and the AI works with live Odoo data — strictly within the permissions you define.
