Klaar. Odoo lettert de factuur direct af.
Eén bedrag verdelen over meerdere facturen

Start de Business Scan →A customer pays 750 euros in cash for three outstanding invoices at once. Or you make a separate deposit that needs to be split across several invoices. The cash drawer adds up — but how do you link it correctly in Odoo, so every invoice shows as paid and your cash book closes cleanly? Four steps.
Setting up the cash journal
First the basics: go to Accounting → Configuration → Journals and enable the Cash journal. Set the default account (usually 1000 Cash). If several employees handle cash — think of a hardware store with two counters — you can create a separate journal per register. That makes the end-of-day count considerably easier.
Registering the payment
For a simple one-to-one case — one payment for one invoice — open the invoice and click Register Payment: Journal = Cash, amount = the amount received. Done. Odoo reconciles the invoice immediately.
Splitting one amount across multiple invoices
For the lump sum, use the Outstanding Account (suspense account):
- Register the payment independently of any invoice, via Customers → Payments → New: Journal = Cash, amount = 750. The payment lands on the outstanding account.
- Open the first outstanding invoice and click Add Payment in the blue widget box.
- Select the "loose" payment; Odoo reconciles the open invoice amount and leaves the remainder on the outstanding account.
- Repeat for the remaining invoices until the payment is fully allocated.
That is how you spread a single incoming amount neatly across three invoices — no workarounds, no orphaned partial payments.
Reconciling the cash register at day's end
Close the register daily: Cash → Control, count your physical cash and enter it. Odoo compares the counted amount with what the system says should be in the drawer and flags any differences. Small discrepancies — a coin of change given out wrong — go to the Cash Differences account. Large or recurring differences deserve a closer look: there is often a forgotten registration behind them.
To finish
Practical tip: always allocate lump-sum cash payments to their invoices the same day. A suspense account that lingers for weeks turns into a puzzle at VAT return time. Cash administration in Odoo not adding up the way it should? Contact DAADit Group — we are happy to take a look with you.
