De pallet staat binnen, de chauffeur wil een handtekening, en voor u het weet liggen ongecontroleerde goederen gewoon in het hoofdschap. Twee weken later ontdekt een klant dat de helft beschadigd was. Wie ontvangen, keuren en opslaan als aparte stappen inricht, voorkomt precies dit — en Odoo heeft daar een standaardoplossing voor: ontvangst in drie stappen.
Drie stappen activeren
- Ga naar Voorraad → Configuratie → Instellingen en vink in de sectie Magazijn Multi-stap routes aan (Odoo activeert dan ook automatisch opslaglocaties).
- Open Voorraad → Configuratie → Magazijnen en kies uw magazijn.
- Zet bij Inkomende zendingen de optie op ontvangen in input, dan kwaliteit en dan voorraad (3 stappen).
Odoo maakt de tussenlocaties WH/Input en WH/Quality Control automatisch aan; u hoeft ze alleen fysiek te markeren, al is het maar met tape op de vloer.
Zo loopt de flow in de praktijk
Vanaf nu bestaat elke ontvangst uit drie gekoppelde transfers, elk met een eigen verantwoordelijke:
- Ontvangst — de goederen komen binnen op de inputlocatie, vlak achter de deur;
- Kwaliteitscontrole — een interne transfer naar de keurlocatie, waar gecontroleerd en gesorteerd wordt;
- Opslag — de laatste transfer naar de definitieve voorraadlocatie.
De vervolgtransfers worden automatisch klaargezet zodra de vorige stap is gevalideerd. Belangrijk voordeel: goederen tellen pas als beschikbaar voor uw verkooporders wanneer ze de laatste stap gepasseerd zijn. Een koffiebrander die groene bonen per pallet ontvangt, keurt zo eerst een monster voordat de partij het roostproces in mag.
Keuring vastleggen met de Quality-app
Wilt u meer dan een visuele check, installeer dan de app Kwaliteit. Daarmee definieert u controlepunten op de bewerking Ontvangsten: goed/fout, meetwaarden of een verplichte foto. Zo bouwt u ook bewijs op richting leveranciers bij claims.

Praktische tip: drie stappen gelden voor het héle magazijn. Hoeft maar een deel van uw assortiment gekeurd te worden, overweeg dan twee stappen plus kwaliteitscontroles per product — dat scheelt geloop. Setting up receiving, inspection and put-away as separate steps prevents exactly this — and Odoo has a standard solution for it: three-step receipt.
Activating the three steps
- Go to Inventory → Configuration → Settings and tick Multi-Step Routes in the Warehouse section (Odoo then enables storage locations automatically as well).
- Open Inventory → Configuration → Warehouses and select your warehouse.
- Under Incoming Shipments, choose receive goods in input, then quality and then stock (3 steps).
Odoo creates the intermediate locations WH/Input and WH/Quality Control automatically; you only need to mark them physically, even if that is just tape on the floor.
How the flow works in practice
From now on, every receipt consists of three chained transfers, each with its own responsible person:
- Receipt — goods arrive at the input location, just inside the door;
- Quality control — an internal transfer to the inspection location, where goods are checked and sorted;
- Put-away — the final transfer to the definitive stock location.
The follow-up transfers are prepared automatically as soon as the previous step is validated. A key benefit: goods only count as available for your sales orders once they have passed the final step. A coffee roaster receiving green beans by the pallet first inspects a sample before the batch is allowed into the roasting process.
Recording inspections with the Quality app
If you want more than a visual check, install the Quality app. It lets you define control points on the Receipts operation: pass/fail, measured values or a mandatory photo. That also builds evidence towards suppliers in case of claims.

Practical tip: three steps apply to the entire warehouse. If only part of your assortment needs inspection, consider two steps plus per-product quality checks instead — it saves a lot of walking.
