Situatie: de eindejaarstelling komt eraan, of u wilt doorlopend tellen. Bij veel bedrijven betekent dat nog steeds: uitdraaien printen, turven op papier, alles overtikken in Excel en daarna hopen dat de boekhouding klopt. Dat kan strakker — Odoo boekt de verschillen namelijk zelf.
Een telling opzetten
- Ga naar Voorraad → Bewerkingen → Fysieke voorraad.
- Filter wat u wilt tellen: een locatie (bijvoorbeeld alleen stelling A), een productcategorie, of de hele voorraad.
- Vul per regel de getelde hoeveelheid in. Handig: via de knop bovenaan zet u de getelde aantallen eerst op nul, zodat tellers echt moeten tellen in plaats van het systeemgetal over te nemen.
- Klik op Toepassen. Odoo boekt de verschillen automatisch weg via de inventarisatielocatie en — bij automatische voorraadwaardering — tegen de afwijkingsrekening in de boekhouding.
Tellen met de Barcode-app
Medewerkers hoeven niet met een klembord rond te lopen: met de Odoo Barcode-app op een scanner of telefoon scannen ze locatie en product, en typen alleen het aantal. Geen overtikwerk achteraf, geen leesfouten uit iemands handschrift. Zeker bij honderden artikelen verdient de app zich in één telling terug.
Beter dan de jaarlijkse marathonsessie: cycle counts
Eén grote telling per jaar betekent één zaterdag chaos en elf maanden onzekerheid. Doe het anders:
- Tel elke week één zone of categorie — in een middagje gedaan.
- Tel hardlopers en dure artikelen vaker dan traag roterende voorraad.
- Stel per locatie een telfrequentie in via het veld Cyclische telling op de locatie (Voorraad → Configuratie → Locaties); Odoo plant de volgende teldatum dan zelf.
Zo ontdekt u diefstal of foute boekingen binnen weken in plaats van maanden, en is de eindejaarstelling nog slechts een formaliteit.
Praktische tip

Situation: the year-end count is coming up, or you want to count continuously. At many companies that still means: printing lists, tallying on paper, retyping everything into Excel and then hoping the books match. It can be much tighter — Odoo books the differences for you.
Setting up a count
- Go to Inventory → Operations → Physical Inventory.
- Filter what you want to count: a location (say, only rack A), a product category, or the entire stock.
- Enter the counted quantity per line. Useful: the button at the top lets you set counted quantities to zero first, so counters actually count instead of copying the system figure.
- Click Apply. Odoo automatically books the differences via the inventory adjustment location and — with automated stock valuation — against the discrepancy account in accounting.
Counting with the Barcode app
Your staff do not need to walk around with a clipboard: with the Odoo Barcode app on a scanner or phone they scan location and product, and only type the quantity. No retyping afterwards, no misread handwriting. With hundreds of items, the app pays for itself in a single count.
Better than the annual marathon: cycle counts
One big count per year means one chaotic Saturday and eleven months of uncertainty. Do it differently:
- Count one zone or category every week — done in an afternoon.
- Count fast movers and expensive items more often than slow-moving stock.
- Set a count frequency per location via the Cyclic Count field on the location (Inventory → Configuration → Locations); Odoo then schedules the next count date itself.
This way you discover theft or booking errors within weeks instead of months, and the year-end count becomes a formality.
Practical tip
