Not a test migration, but a real dry run

A migration rarely fails on the technology. It fails because the trial is a snapshot: one export is made, it is imported, and by the time your team has an opinion about it the data is three weeks old. What you are testing then is a museum, not a working environment.

We do it differently. Because we also use Connecta Software for migrations, the connection to your current systems simply stays open. The data keeps synchronising while we configure. Your test environment moves with reality: your team practises on yesterday’s orders, not last month’s.

That difference matters most in large or complex projects, where configuration takes months and the organisation keeps running in the meantime.

What this does not solve

Continuous synchronisation does not fix bad data. Duplicate contacts, product codes in three formats and fields everyone uses differently: you have to clean that up, and it costs your own people time. What we do is make that mess visible early, instead of on cutover day.

Why companies switch

The reason is almost always the same: the current package handles accounting fine, but the rest of the business runs on separate tools, spreadsheets and manual work. Odoo replaces not only your accounting package but also your CRM, inventory management, webshop, timesheets and project administration — in one system, with one licence.

How the migration works

Data analysis and trial export

We export a copy of your current data and have AI assess its quality: duplicate contacts, missing VAT numbers, polluted product data. You see up front what needs cleaning.

Configuration and test migration

Odoo is configured to your processes (the gap-fit from our approach) and the data is transferred to a test environment for the first time. Your team checks familiar customers, balances and open items.

Running in parallel

A short period in which the old package remains leading and Odoo runs alongside it. Differences are explained and resolved before you switch over for good — no big bang.

Go-live on a logical date

Usually at the start of a month or quarter: opening balance finalised, old package set to read-only, team trained. We remain available daily during the first period.

Frequently asked questions about migrating

How long does moving to Odoo take?
On average 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the number of processes and the data quality. A single accounting migration can be faster; a full ERP replacement with webshop and inventory is at the upper end.
Will my history come across?
As standard, we migrate master data, open items and the opening balance. Bringing over the full transaction history is possible, but often unnecessary: the old package remains available read-only, which saves considerably on complexity and cost.
When is the best time to switch?
A year-end is the cleanest (new opening balance), but the start of a quarter or month works fine. More important than the date is the preparation: clean data and a tested process.
What does a migration to Odoo cost?
